Hercules must work with his childhood friends Pegasus and Philoctetes to show he is a hero and help Zeus beat Hades and the Gigantes. Herc also learns what love means.
The Emperor’s New Groove (1999)
Disney movies are known for having excellent quality and original stories that kids of all ages love. But some animated Disney movies miss the mark and must live up to what people expect.
One of those movies was The Emperor’s New Groove. Unlike Disney animated movies, this one is more about jokes than the story or the characters.
Even though this movie isn’t as charming as other Disney animated movies, it’s still fun and heartwarming that people of all ages can enjoy.
This movie is about an emperor named Kuzco who is very greedy. After he turns into a llama by accident, he becomes friends with Pacha (voiced by John Goodman). This story also has a great moral lesson and a lot of interesting people. The animation is good enough for a movie theater, and the music is alright.
The Lion King II: Simba’s Pride (2001)
The Lion King II: Simba’s Pride is a follow-up to the first Disney animated movie, The Lion King. It shows how Mufasa and Sarabi’s son Simba takes over as leader of The Pride Lands. Simba is Scar’s nephew, Nala’s husband, and Kiara’s father.
When Kiara, Simba’s daughter, runs away from her mother and enters the forbidden lands, she meets a cub named Kovu. They become fast friends. But Kovu’s mother, Zira, is a Scar follower who was kicked out of The Pride Lands. She wants to raise Kovu to kill Simba and take over as king of The Pride Lands.
Even though Lion King II isn’t as deep or beautiful as the first one, it is better than many recent DTV movies. It has better animation, more likable characters, and better dialogue in general than the DTVs that came before it. It also has a good number of extras, which makes it an excellent addition to a collection.
The Princess and the Frog II: Tiki Tiki Toes (2001)
This Disney animated movie is a new take on the classic fairy tale. It tells the story of Tiana (Anika Noni Rose), a hard-working waitress in New Orleans in the 1920s who wants to open her restaurant one day. When she meets the rude and carefree Prince Naveen (Bruno Campos), who has been turned into a frog by the voodoo master Dr. Facilier, her dream slightly turns.
Even though this movie was never a big hit, it is one of the best-animated movies that Disney has ever made. It’s a heartwarming story that shows kids that wishing can only get you so far but that working hard is also essential. Disney movies often teach this lesson, making them great films.
